Happy Monday Everyone! Welcome back! I fell off track the past few Fridays which is my own fault. I didn't work out for about two to three weeks. I was just tired and my body was taxed and I needed a break. Ya know? It's not that I didn't and don't care about my health or my fitness goals. However, we're all human and sometimes you have to take time for yourself, to recharge and reset. I did start back on June 28th, which would've been last Friday and I had some supplements to try and I'm back today with a review. I tried something entirely new! The company is, Blonyx. I had never heard of them before but they reach out and were kind enough to send us a sample of their new Egg White Protein Isolate. I've never tried Egg White Protein Isolate, I've always been into Whey Protein, and Isolate. You may ask, what's the difference between the two. Let me tell you: Whey Protein, as you may know, is derived from milk. It has other vitamins, minerals and benefits but for those of you who may be lactose intolerant, well whey protein may not be the best option for you. Egg White Protein is made from, eggs (duh). The egg whites are turned into a powder which is rich in protein and avoiding fats. Egg whites have some nutrients (not as much as an egg yolk) but just the same as whey protein with milk, some people can have allergies to egg whites too. So both types of protein have their benefits, but for some, they have their downfalls too. About Blonyx Egg White Protein specifically:
Their instructions recommend mixing one scoop with 8 ounces of cold water. On their website it states that they, "take all the bad taste out of egg whites, and even take out the frothiness too!" I did as the instructions recommended and even still, I experienced frothiness. Normally, when I drink whey protein, the frothiness doesn't bother me, so I didn't think anything of it when the egg white protein did the same. Well, this frothiness is totally different from whey protein in my opinion. It looks like if you've ever had egg whites out of a carton and you shake the carton up before putting the eggs in a pan, that kind of frothiness. For me, I wasn't a fan of the taste. The flavor I received was milk chocolate. I don't think it was bad at all. I'm just a fan of more sweeter tasting protein powders. Keep in mind that this protein is very minimally processed, and has natural ingredients in it, which is good. Especially if you live a more organic, or vegetarian lifestyle. I'm not totally organic or vegetarian. I didn't notice any upset stomach or discomfort from drinking this though. This can be a deal breaker for many people. *I do not have an allergen to eggs. In conclusion, I don't think that this protein powder is bad or that you shouldn't buy it. If you like protein powder that's more natural and doesn't have a sweet taste to it then this is for YOU! I appreciate Blonyx giving us the opportunity to try their newly releasing protein.
